New Carpathians lose to Chalfont Saints

New Carpathians new it would be a struggle beating the Saints in this fixture, as they wanted to finish out the season with a 100 percent record.

It was a game that could not move either of them up or down, so to everyone other than the two teams it was a game that did not matter. But Carps have beaten the Saints in the cup before so they went in to the game thinking they could break them down again, there was no such luck as the Saints went on to beat Carpathians 5 - 0.

New Carps just beat AFC Lodge to second place by one point, which puts them in the division above for next season.

Promotion For The New Carpathians

The New Carpathians first season has shown to be very successful this year, making their way to the semi finals of the League Challenge Cup losing only 2-1 to Eldorado, who went on to win the cup and premier division champions 5 years running.

Carps claimed second place on Sunday after getting the four points they needed and deserved which puts them into division 2 next season. In the double header against Gatecrasher Vets, the first hour game ended 2-0 to the Carpathians which meant they only needed one point from the second game. And they did exactly that in a tense 0-0 draw against the Vets, who also needed the one point not to finish bottom.

New Carpathians last game of the season comes between first and second place, even though the Carps cannot move any higher or lower, I’m sure they are going to want to be the only team to claim victory over Chalfont saints this season.

Congratulations to The New Carpathians and to manager Lee Keogh on their brilliant season and good luck in the second division.

The 2nd official of the season.

Congratulations to our very own Eddie Spong, who will be awarded for the best 2nd official of the season in all divisions.

Eddie has been The New Carpathians linesman all season and has done a superb job, rarely getting a decision wrong and never biased. His commitment in all aspects of the game this year has been more than anyone could have asked from him, from putting the nets up week in and week out, to putting every bit of effort into making the right decision.

On behalf of The New Carpathians, congratulations Eddie and enjoy picking up your award that is very much deserved.

New Carpathians lose to AFC Lodge Reserves

The New Carpathians were on the losing end of an epic battle yesterday losing narrowly to rivals AFC Lodge Reserves 2 - 1. Even though the promotion spot is very much in reach for the New Carps, they could have taken it there and then.

Like The New Carpathians, AFC Lodge Res have improved as the season has gone on, beating teams like Three Lions 8-0, this game was always going to be tough for the Carps.

Lodge produced a much better performance in the first half and also scored their two goals in the first 45. After a crucial team talk during the break Carps came back fighting and looked like the team they have been over the last few months scoring within the first five minutes of the second half. Unfortunatly that was the only goal of the second half which makes it a little harder to grab runners up.

Gatecrasher Vets host The New Carpathians this sunday in a double header clash, which Carps need to come away with no less than four points to claim promotion.

Make your way up to Westwood to show your support at 10.30 am.
